DepotDash
About

Built for Edmonton, by Edmontonians.

DepotDash started because every other bottle pickup service in town was charging 30% of your refund just to drive a truck. We thought: what if you actually kept your money?

The story

The big bottle pickup apps in Alberta were built in Calgary. They serve 27+ cities. They charge a flat 30% fee on every residential pickup, even big ones. Their drivers are contractors, their support team is hundreds of kilometres away, and their charity partners are mostly south of Red Deer.

We started DepotDash because Edmonton deserved a local alternative. Locally owned. Edmonton-based drivers. Edmonton charity partners. And a pricing model that says: if your pickup is worth $10 or more, we don't take a cut. We pay for the truck out of the unit economics. You keep 100% of your refund.

How we think about pricing

The 30% flat fee model the other guys use means a $50 pickup costs you $15. Every. Single. Time. We think that's rough — most of the cost of a pickup is fixed (truck, driver, fuel) and doesn't scale with refund size. Once your pickup is over $10, we've covered our costs. The rest is yours.

How we think about Edmonton

We're not trying to be in every Alberta city. We're trying to be the best bottle pickup service in this one. That means: faster route adjustments, more flexible pickup windows, drivers who recognize your house, charity partners who are doing work in your neighbourhood.

How we think about charities

0% service fee on registered fundraisers. Always. Schools, sports teams, churches, charities, community groups — the full refund goes to your organization. We make money on the residential pickups. The charity vertical is how we say thanks to the city.
